The logic of a 5 year old

I love conversations with Kate...


Me: Kate, we need to get a Christmas present for your teacher, what do you think she would like?

Kate: Not a toy, that's for kids. How 'bout a cupcake maker?

Me: Well, I think that's probably more for kids.

Kate: Yeah, she needs some Mom stuff...maybe we can make her cookies. Can we make her cookies right now?

Me: No, it's time for school.

Kate: oh...can we make cookies for me right now?

Davis' eye

Day 1 Day 3 (that would be peanut butter and chocolate around his mouth but you get the idea)

Day 5: It almost looked worse when all the swelling went down and the bruises turned all different colors, Davis got a little tired of answering all the questions from people everywhere we went.
Day Fifteen: By Thanksgiving, the bruises were fading.

Day 26: Now there are still traces of the bruises and his face is still a little tender but he is pretty much healed. I thought this injury might slow him down a bit but he is a pretty hard headed kid ( I don't know where he gets that!) I caught him trying to jump off the top bunk again the other day and asked him if he wants to go back to the hospital, he said, "I won't get hurt this time!" Crazy kid!

I was so excited to go to a KY game while I was in town for Thanksgiving. We had a fun night going to dinner and the game, thanks for the tickets Niki and thanks to my parents for watching the kids!

It's Christmas outside!

The day after we got home from Thanksgiving break, we woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow. Davis announced to everyone that it was Christmas outside and Kate was really concerned that we had not made any cookies for Santa! Conner likes to be the first one to walk through the snow in our yard so he was a little disappointed when he got home from school and the mailman beat him to it.
